Community Guidelines
Last updated: September 17, 2026
These guidelines explain what we expect from ChatToday members, in plain language. They work alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Why these guidelines exist
ChatToday is meant to be a space for genuine conversations between real people. These guidelines explain, in more detail than our Terms of Service, what we expect from members and what happens when those expectations aren't met. They apply everywhere on ChatToday: your profile, your photos, and every conversation you have.
2. Be a real person, be yourself
You must be at least 18 years old and represent yourself honestly. That means:
- One account per person — no duplicate or "backup" accounts
- Your own recent photos, not stock images, AI-generated images, or someone else's photos
- A profile that's actually you — no impersonating another person, celebrity, or organization
- No bots or automated accounts
3. Profile photo standards
Profile photos are public and reviewed automatically before they're shown to other members. Nudity, sexually explicit content, and content involving minors are never allowed and are rejected outright — see "How content is reviewed" below. Photos that show violence, gore, or clearly illegal activity are also rejected.
4. Respectful conduct in chat
Messages are held to a different standard than public profile photos — an explicit photo sent in chat is blurred rather than blocked outright, since a private conversation between two adults isn't reviewed the same way a public profile is. That's not an invitation to send unsolicited explicit content. When messaging other members, don't:
- Send unsolicited explicit photos or content
- Harass, threaten, bully, or demean anyone
- Use hate speech or content that attacks someone based on who they are
- Share someone else's personal information without their consent (doxxing)
- Send spam, run scams, or promote unrelated products, services, or other platforms
5. Scams and financial safety
Never send money, gift cards, or cryptocurrency to someone you've met on ChatToday, no matter how convincing their story is, and be skeptical of anyone who asks. We'll never ask you to pay another member directly through the app. Use good judgment before sharing personal information or agreeing to meet someone in person.
6. Zero-tolerance violations
Some violations result in an immediate, permanent ban with no prior warning, including but not limited to: content involving minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, credible threats of violence, and sexual exploitation or trafficking. We also use Cloudflare's CSAM Scanning Tool to check every image served against hash lists of known child sexual abuse material (CSAM), and report matches to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and, where required, law enforcement — see our Privacy Policy.
7. How content is reviewed
Photos and profile text are automatically screened before they're shown to other members, and the first few messages in a new conversation are automatically screened too. Most reviews finish in a moment. Content that doesn't meet these guidelines is rejected or hidden automatically; flagged content may also be reviewed by our moderation team.
8. Reporting and enforcement
You can report or block another member at any time from their profile or your conversation with them. We review reports and take action ranging from a warning or content removal to a temporary restriction or a permanent ban, depending on the severity and history of the violation.
If you believe we got an enforcement decision wrong, you can appeal by emailing safety@chattoday.com within 14 days of the decision. Include your account email and as much detail as you can — we'll review and respond.
